How To Create A Positive Mindset

One comment

Having a positive mindset is a game change when it comes to crushing goals.

When we wake up feeling positive, we are more likely to take a better approach to our dietsand fitness plans for the day. Start the day off with a workout and biologically those endorphins leave you feeling great. You are then more likely to continue to make healthy choices.

Even on days where you don’t make the best choices having that positive mindset can help you reign things in and keep yourself on the right track. Okay, so you really didn’t have the motivation to exercise, but you still ate well and will get it done tomorrow. Maybe you don’t feel like working out but still showed up and put in the best effort even if you cut it short on that day.

Research shows that positive emotions are really good for the body. Well, having a positive mindset is sometime easier said than done.

A positive outlook not only aides in healthy behavior changes, but can reduce inflammation in the body, and lower the risk diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis and even overall risk of death.

So… How do we “stay positive”, especially during challenging times?

For one, we understand that life is always going to have positive and negatives, happy and sad, good and bad.

Think Happy Thoughts

When going through a stressful or challenging time, try to think of one positive thing about the situation or that can come out of the situation. Put a positive spin on it.

Make A Negative A Positive

Try to look at the stressor from a different perspective and instead of letting it put a dark cloud over you, think of a way to solve the problem, make the best of the situation, and creative positive emotions that you would like to feel.

Do Things That Make You Happy

Take time out of every day to do something you enjoy. This could include reading a few pages from a book on the way to work or a bath before bed to unwind. Then try to do as many things as you can that make you happy. Set an environment for happiness.

Reach Daily Goals

Set goals that are achievable in short-term or in any given day and complete them. This increase in productivity is motivating in its own right and will leave you feeling positive about reaching goals, no matter how small.

Understand that you are the person who generates your emotions by what you think.

Sure, it may be hard to feel excited or cheerful during stressful times, but we can tap into some other emotions – even if just for a few minutes here and there throughout the day.

When you are struggling try to think of being:

💖 Strong
💖 Proud
💖 Cheerful
💖 Calm
💖 Joy
💖 Love
💖 Motivation
💖 Grateful

What is one positive emotion you are choosing to feel today?

  1. Good ideas. I am working from home and not really enjoying it. I’m getting so little done.
But I have been able to spend more time on little projects that need time and time to think, so I’ve managed to turn that negative into a positive!
