The Power Behind New Workout Clothes

There is nothing like the power a new outfit provides. Sporting a brand new ensemble immediately boosts confidence. You then spend the day strutting your stuff (in style) proudly. Suddenly you are ready to tackle the day and feel good doing so because you feel good about yourself.

Now this same mentality applies to workout clothes just as much as it does your new power suit or fab fashionista statement piece. Put on a new pair of compression leggings and vibrant top with that motivational saying and all of a sudden you are ready to kick some ass at your workout of choice.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, getting new workout gear has magical effects on our psyche.

Well, it’s not so much magic as it is science, since studies have found that people are more motivated to workout when purchasing new clothes to workout it.

And just think about the logic behind it. No one feels good in baggy T-shirts and sweats. But if you buy some trendy piece of gear, chances are you can’t wait to put it on and show it off at the gym. That means a workout is in your near forecast.

You will also feel more athletic just by putting on the athletic gear. Plus, many options are just so much more comfortable than putting on jeans. And so you might as well get to sweating since you are already dressed for the occasion.

Trendy fitness gear is just screaming to be worn, showing off lean legs, toned arms and tight abs. And even if your body isn’t exactly where you want it to be, embrace the power of the workout pants, tops or sneakers to help motivate you to continue on your fitness journey.

It’s not like not there aren’t any cute and fashionable pieces being sold by brands. According to Global Industry Analysts, the fitness clothing market is expected to become a $196.2 billion market by 2020.

Those looking to kick-start their workout wardrobe or need a new source of fitspiration can head over right now to Old Navy to get 50 % off activewear.

Here’s the items I picked up “to celebrate” and reward myself for deciding to get back to training for my first half marathon post-baby and for 2017:
