Beauty Blog: Change Your Look For Spring

I know it’s not Tuesday, but I had a share some tips for a beauty blog special edition spring post.Yesterday was Friday the 13th, and it feels like spring is finally in the air! The temperatures are rising slowly, but summer will be upon us faster than we know it.

As the seasons change, it’s always good to change up your look—whether than means a new hairstyle, new wardrobe or new makeup looks. Winter trends are all about dark lip and nail colors, head-to-toe classic black outfits and stylish winter coats to keep us warm. Now it’s time to shed those layers and lighten things up a bit.

Which is why I decided to change up my look a bit and go a bit blonder for the springtime. Okay, so I know that this is not a drastic change for me, but I enjoy my blondie locks. Still, I chose to go a bit lighter and get a good haircut to feel like a brand me new.

And ladies, there’s nothing better than getting your hair done. Sometimes you just need your alone time and sit in a salon and get pampered. Plus leaving the salon after a cut or color will make you feel like a super model, increasing your confidence so that you can go out and conquer the world.

It seems like Friday the 13th had everyone feeling lucky because my salon was packed. My hairstylist did a full head of highlights and lifted my base color and it came out the perfect blonde. I am not naturally a blonde, so I love how it still looks natural and not like I pulled a Kim K.

I am a long hair lover and am trying to grow my locks long, but it’s important to get a trim ever 2 months or so, especially after color. So I got a healthy trim with a blowout with body and waves.

While in the salon, I was chatting it up with some of the ladies and we were talking about how women have so many options when it comes to their looks. If you’re feeling bold, than go for a short hair cut like a bob. If you have long hair, get some layers to add body. There are some many color options like highlighting or dying your hair a dark color like a red or even ombre with some funky colors.

And once you change up for look a bit, then change it up again  playing around with different hairstyles like curls and waves to fun up dos. I love springtime bohemian inspired hair like this look.

One day go for a softer more natural makeup look with a nude lip, and the next put a pop of color like a bright lip to spice things up.

I can’t wait to hit up my favorite stores for spring fashion trends. Changing up your wardrobe and then changing up again is another fun way to spice up your beauty look. This year’s trends include sporty looks that are still ready-for-work wearable. Check out the Alexander Wang’s new line for some inspiration.

In terms of spring color trends, this year is all about the “En Plein Air” palate which concludes cool tones like strawberry ice pink, lucite green, tangerine and lavender herb.

It’s time to do some spring cleaning, get rid of the signs of winter and get out and enjoy the spring air. Remember there is beauty all around us!

What are you looking forward to this spring? What’s you favorite springtime beauty look?
